U P D A T E on BIODIVERSITY DIALOGUE SERIES:
Tuesday 19th February:
Tuesday's key speaker Corinne Unger has been interviewed by Radio National's Ian Townsend on Background Briefing, Sunday 17th FEb at 8am, covering a critical current issue in Queensland around Abandoned Mines since the recent floods. Mines in central Qld have been discharging waste water into passing floods. For local farmers near the Dee River, a spill of toxic water from the abandoned Mount Morgan gold mine has turned out to be worse than first thought.

Thursday 21st February:
Thursday's Key Speaker Dr Carol Richards is part of the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance which today launched The People's Food Plan Working Paper at the Sydney Town Hall. Click image to read more.
Artwork by Sophie Munns has been used for the cover of this working paper and banner at the Launch.
"The AFSA and its allies say the Government’s soon-to-be-released National Food Plan is an opportunity missed. Instead of offering innovative solutions to a growing food crisis, it presents a business as usual, ‘Corporate Food Plan’, driven by the interests of big business." AFSA website.
Carol will talk in part about this initiative as one of many that are evolving in response to increasing pressures of food systems at this time.
NB: See flyer below for the Program and the Presenters link on the right. RSVP to book a seat now!

The Biodiversity Dialogue series represents an exciting move to bring some stories to light that need discussing in real time, away from online channels... putting people together in a space to peer into things like a mini Q & A session on the stuff that really matters to us on these themes. Info on presenters can be found through their links and in more detail when added to the website asap. We are planning to run this Dialogue series at other venues and in collaboration with some wonderful people in 2013. More on that soon.
